Mission Statement

Dames for Danes is an all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue organization based in Oak Ridge, TN dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected Great Danes in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia, as well as to areas resources will allow.

Provisions:

Dames For Danes provides: Rescue, foster care, veterinary care, and sterilization for Great Danes in city/county animal shelters that would otherwise be euthanized. Assistance to other animal rescues and shelters needing to relocate rescued Great Danes. Foster care for Great Danes surrendered by their owners who either can no longer provide for the pets or no longer wish to have them in their homes. Adoption of rescued Great Danes to qualified homes that have been properly screened and counseled by our adoption coordinators and foster parents to maintain the pet in the home for a lifetime. Education to the public in the form of importance of humane education, animal welfare and spaying/neutering. Dames for Danes will also open our doors to Irish Wolfhounds, St. Bernards, Newfies, and Dane Mix Breeds when our room allows. We cannot always open our door to all as resources are limited but we will offer help to those in need in other ways when possible.
